Distribution System Decision Support Tools

In this project, a multi-lab team is identifying a comprehensive menu of strategies that facilitate and support enhanced utility distribution system planning.  This includes guidance on how to consider and incorporate non-wires alternatives, distributed energy resources, and advanced grid components and systems.

The team is educating and providing technical assistance for state regulatory agencies, such as public utilities commissions, as well as rural electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, and investor-owned utilities.  The team is also identify significant gaps in existing and emerging EDP approaches, as well as identifying and applying tools and methods that address these issues.
